Our company’s headquarters and factory are situated in Azumino, at the foot of the Japanese Alps, which tower over central Japan. From this location you can look up and see the beautiful snow capped Alps when going to and from work in the mornings and evenings.
Amongst all the prefectures in Japan, a country known for the long life expectancy of its people, Nagano Prefecture prides itself on having the longest life expectancy for both men and women (as of 2013). We are keenly reminded that the keys to a healthy life are clean air, water, and light.
Azumino is blessed with its natural water resources, and our company uses the pure subsoil water from the melted snow of the Japanese Alps.
The wasabi fields of Azumino are also downstream from the subsoil water source of the Japanese Alps, and reap the benefits of this pure water.
This Azumino wasabi is then taken fresh, to be made into processed wasabi.
Since our company was established in 1946, we have strived to maintain a quality in our products to satisfy our customers. In 2002 we obtained ISO9001 certification, and we are continually working towards increased quality management and productivity. Of course, the entire series of quality management related to our products, such as records, raw materials, storage, and commercialization are all strictly managed at each step.
Also, from 2000, when we built our factory in Los Angeles, USA as part of our overseas strategy, we have continued to promote the international expansion of Japanese food culture in earnest.
The basic principle of our corporate identity can be summarized as “All things in this world are mutually supportive”. We want to use our company to be of use to as many people as we can.
While we maintain these basic principles as our management policy, our entire staff looks to the future daily, directs our hopes to the mountains and sky from the center of Azumino, and hopes to continue doing our best.
